Greetings, my name is Emily Carrillo. I am a Mental Health Counselor-in-training (CIT) under the supervision of Kimberly Johnson, PhD, LMHC, DAAETS. I am devoted to helping you formulate a holistic treatment approach. My therapeutic approach focuses on strength-based and wellness interventions that area developed collaboratively with each client. I am able to integrate my  professional experiences as a credentialed Special Education Teacher, to work with children and teens, particularly those who are differently abled. I am experienced in working with children and families in crisis as well as providing skills programming for students with moderate to severe autism. I am dedicated to supporting youth and adults in identifying their social, emotional, and mental health challenges and in discovering their individual strengths to support their move toward greater wellness. I have several interests and believe in supporting each client in connecting with their personal strengths and interests as well. Some of my hobbies are painting, sculpting, dancing, and going to pop-up interactive art galleries. I look forward to meeting with you (and/or your child) and learning more about what hobbies and strengths you bring into the clinical process which might support your journey towards greater mental health and wellness.
