ELIZABETH ALTMAN,  MHC-LP

You may be someone others rely on. You hold things together, manage what needs to get done, and often keep moving even when something inside feels heavy or unclear. On the outside you appear capable and composed. Internally, there may be stress, anxiety, exhaustion, or a sense that you are carrying more than you can process alone.

I work with adolescents and adults navigating periods of high emotional demand; including first responders and their families, individuals managing postpartum changes, grief, illness, life transitions, and those living with anxiety, depression, panic, insomnia, or more complex mental health concerns. Many of the people I work with are used to being the strong one, whether by role, by circumstance, or by habit. Therapy becomes a space to slow down, make sense of what they are experiencing, and feel supported without having to figure it out alone.

My approach is integrative, drawing from cognitive-behavioral, acceptance-based, psychodynamic, and relational frameworks, as well as somatic awareness informed by my background as a certified yoga instructor. For sleep concerns I utilize CBT-I, a structured, evidence-based approach specifically designed for insomnia. I also work with couples and incorporate play-based approaches when working with younger clients. I tailor the work to fit both the practical and the personal.I am currently accepting new clients.

If you are considering therapy, we can start with a conversation to see if this feels like a good fit.
