LINDSEY GROSSMAN, PhD, LMHC

 

Dr. Lindsey Grossman is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, educator, and supervisor in the state of New York dedicated to helping adolescents and adults navigate life’s challenges with compassion, insight, and practical support.  She works with clients experiencing anxiety, trauma, stress, life transitions, emotional overwhelm, and interpersonal challenges, and she values creating a warm, collaborative therapeutic relationship where clients feel heard, supported, and empowered to grow. Grounded in a Relational-Cultural Therapy framework, Dr. Grossman believes healing and growth occur through authentic connection, mutual understanding, and increased self-awareness within relationships  She tailors therapy to each client’s individual needs, thoughtfully integrating a range of techniques and interventions to support meaningful, sustainable change. Her clinical experience spans outpatient psychotherapy, crisis intervention, school-based counseling, and psychiatric hospital settings, allowing her to provide care that is both grounded in clinical expertise and deeply person-centered. Dr. Grossman is an LGBTQIA+ affirming, sex-positive, body-positive clinician.

In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Grossman trains and supervises future mental health counselors. She regularly teaches master's-level courses in counseling theories and skills, professional ethics, and case conceptualization, and she has taught career counseling, trauma and crisis counseling, and research methods in semesters past. She earned her PhD in Counseling and Counselor Education with a concentration in Communications Studies from The University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She earned her master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Georgia State University. Dr. Grossman is a National Certified Counselor and an active member of the American Counseling Association and the New York Mental Health Counseling Association.

Outside of work, Dr. Grossman loves walking the city, eating outside in nice weather, and staying current on all the most popular prestige tv shows.
